It's been a great year so
far!

We've had a great year so far I think. We still are
working on learning more new material, but it's so hard
to get together when you work, have kids, soccer,
baseball, hockey, etc. We've been very fortunate to
play several stellar gigs this year, as well as over
the past few years. Despite these hard economic times,
clubs cutting back, smoking bans, etc, we've still
managed to play as much as "we" want to play. We play
because it's fun, and we are all the best of friends.
There is never any "band drama", and we all just get
along. The way it should be. We just enjoy playing
together and the reward is, we get paid to do so, and
make a lot of good friends along the way. Because the
economy is in the state it's in, we've never once asked
for a raise, nor have we raised our prices. Just
because we are an "affordable" band, doesn't mean we
aren't a GOOD band. Many of the top acts in town charge
$1500-$2000 and up, plus they charge a cover! It's like
they use the venue as a place to play, yet the venue
itself doesn't really make any money. That's great for
those bands. I'm always happy to see musicians do well.
Those bands are all very talented, have their shows
dialed in, and put a lot of time and effort in to it.
But many times, that IS their job. Where as with
Punch... it's our "fun time". Our break from the grind.
We aren't out to stick anyone. We want it to be a
win/win for everyone. If the club can make some money,
everyone has a great, and we make a little money...
then great! The way we look at it, is that we are
employees of the club. Our job is entertain the people
that are there, keep them happy, having fun, and
drinking. NOT to drive a crowd away. I think we do just
that, and with flying colors!
Thanks to all the club owners, managers, staff, and
patrons.... for allowing us to play 16 years solid!
