Our little angel Jimmie Bruhn, was asked to be the hot
showcase guitar player for
Thor MX on Feb 15th, and he did
not disappoint. His job was to play this Jackson
Randy Rhoads model guitar which they were raffling
off. The graphics of the guitar matched the theme
for their new line of clothing. So as he played,
people would drop their business cards into the
box, and afterwards, one lucky winner would go
home with the guitar. Jimmie played to hundreds of
on-lookers for two solid hours. Just him, an amp,
his looper pedal, and hot rock lixx and trixx. I
was so proud of him. He did a wonderful job. It's
not that easy to show up to, of all places... the
Convention Center, stand alone for two hours, play
an off the shelf guitar you're not familiar with,
all the while melting faces with blinding
fretboard pyrotechnics! It was great! He would say
it was no big deal, but I thought he did a fab
job, and so did everyone else!
From the news wire regarding the event:
"There was also some exciting stuff happening at Thor
all weekend with their spring release. Thor's new Polka
Dot gear, which was inspired by the great Randy Rhoads,
was one of the new color ways showcased. Thor had a
musician come and play a replica of Randy's Polka Dot
flying V guitars to keep everyone entertained. Dealers
could put a business card in a box to win the guitar as
well as some Thor gear, and on Sunday they picked one
lucky winner to take it home."
